MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. (AP) _ A 5-day-old baby was snatched from her crib by a Siberian husky and mauled to death, authorities said Monday.

Ana Lynn Pagliaro, of Florence, died Sunday, said county Prosecutor Stephen G. Raymond. The infant's neck had been broken, the prosecutor said.

The dog entered the infant's nursery and pulled the baby from the crib, Raymond said. Her father, 37-year-old Albert Pagliaro, was joined by the dog in another room and noticed the animal acting strangely.

He checked the nursery and found the infant on the floor, the prosecutor said.

The infant's mother, Linda, 35, was asleep in a separate bedroom, Raymond said.

Raymond said no charges will be filed against the parents. Mrs. Pagliaro also has a 9-year-old daughter from a previous marriage.

The dog has been taken to a county animal shelter where it will be tested for rabies, Raymond said. He did not know if it would be destroyed.
