Girl Barred from Egg Roll Invited to White House With AM-Reagan-Argentina Bjt

March 19, 1985

WASHINGTON (AP) _ Jennifer Ledbetter, a youngster who was told by a Reagan campaign aide last year she was not welcome at the White House Easter egg roll because she supported Democrat Walter Mondale, was a special guest Tuesday at an official White House ceremony.

The girl and her parents attended the ceremony marking the arrival of Argentine President Raul Alfonsin for a state visit with President Reagan.

Jennifer and her parents, Joseph and Kathy Ledbetter of Olney, Md., who were invited by Nancy Reagan, met briefly with the president.

Mrs. Reagan issued the invitation after reading news accounts that Jennifer, then 11, had been told she would not be invited to the Easter egg ceremony because of her political beliefs.
