Free college financial aid help available at NVCC Sunday

WATERBURY-The frustration of applying for college aid might become a little easier.

The Naugatuck Valley Community College on 750 Chase Parkways is conducting a free event that will teach parents and students how to apply for financial aid. The event will take place Oct 7 at 1:30 p.m. in the Technology Hall.

Financial aid professional and community-based service providers will be available to help students and their parents complete the free application for Financial Student Aid.

No registration is required. However students must obtain their FSA identification prior to the workshop. This can be done by logging onto https://fsaid.ed.gov .

Students must bring the following information: 2017 federal tax returns for parent and/or student; 2017 W2’s for parent and/or student; a green card if the student is an eligible non-citizen; the amount of child support received in 2017 and any workers’ compensation received in 2017.
