CLERGY ABUSE-NEW JERSEY
TRENTON _ Gov. Phil Murphy signed legislation Monday to ease restrictions on when childhood sexual abuse victims can seek damages in court, an action that comes after a wave of details last year about the abuse of minors in the Roman Catholic Church. Murphy said in a statement that he recognized opponents’ worries that the expanded statute, which allows victims to sue institutions, will expose organizations to financial liability. ELECTION 2020-HOUSE GOP RECRUITS
WASHINGTON _ Top Republicans are searching district-by-district for just the right candidates — women and political newcomers in many cases — to help them recapture the House, six months after a political tidal wave swept Democrats into control with the most diverse majority in history. _ WOMAN FATALLY STABBED _ Authorities say a dispute inside an apartment ended with a woman fatally stabbed and a man hospitalized in critical condition.
_ CRASH-TEEN GIRL KILLED _ Authorities say a single-vehicle crash in northwestern New Jersey has killed a teenage girl and left three other teens hospitalized.
_ RAIL SERVICE RESTORED _ Trains or running again in Atlantic City and Princeton.
EAST RUTHERFORD _ The New York Giants have signed fifth-round draft picks Ryan Connelly and Darius Slayton, and re-signed defensive tackle John Jenkins.
NEWARK _ The New Jersey Devils have signed forwards Fabian Zetterlund and Mikhail Maltsev to three-year, entry-level contracts.
