Calling all readers: Is your community facing challenges from rapid change?

Last Sunday, I took an extensive look at demographic changes and financial challenges affecting Euclid, Cleveland’s third largest suburb.

Euclid’s ability to find solutions has been challenged by deindustrialization, racial tensions and a dramatically shrinking tax base. But residents are committed to the city’s future and are pushing for solutions. They want to revive a community I called “a gem in a vise.”

I’d like to hear about other communities facing challenges from regional development patterns, demographic migration, and financial challenges posed by a changing global economy.

Is your community adapting well to change? Or do you think elected leaders and local institutions could be doing a better job? What’s the best way to ensure a bright future for your community, and all of Northeast Ohio? What solutions would you like to see? I’d like to hear your thoughts and suggestions

Please email me at SLitt@plaind.com or leave a message at 216-903-5924. And thanks!
