WICHITA, Kan. (AP) _ Brian Dallimore singled home the go-ahead run in the eighth inning as Stanford beat Texas Tech 6-5 Tuesday to win the NCAA Midwest I regional and advance to the College World Series.

Kyle Peterson went the distance for Stanford (39-23) and struck out 11.

Texas Tech (51-14) took a 3-1 lead in the second inning, but Stanford bounced back with three runs in the seventh.

The Red Raiders tied the game in the bottom of the seventh on a double by Jason Totman, a sacrifice and an error. Dallimore's RBI single put Stanford ahead 5-4 in the eighth and the Cardinal added a run in the ninth.

Totman homered in the bottom of the ninth to make it 6-5, but Tech couldn't get any closer. Totman went 4-for-5 with two RBIs.

Steve Carver went 3-for-4 for Stanford with a homer and two RBIs.

Peterson (13-1) was voted the regional's most outstanding player.
