Westford man convicted in fatal crash

September 17, 2014

AYER, Mass. (AP) — A Westford man police say was speeding when he crashed his truck, killing two passengers, has been found guilty of two counts of motor vehicle homicide.

Keith Lamarre was sentenced to 4 1/2 years in jail with three years to serve and the balance suspended until March 2023.

The Sentinel & Enterprise reports that the 22-year-old Lamarre also lost his driver’s license for 15 years and must complete 200 hours of community service.

Authorities say the 21-year-old Lamarre was behind the wheel when his pickup truck crashed in Littleton in September 2012. Taylor Elizabeth Deluca, of Groton, and Richard Mitchell, of Dunstable, both died. Both were 21.

Police said Lamarre was speeding, failed to negotiate a curve, lost control, went off the road and crashed into the utility pole.
