Demonstration

Odessa Tae Kwon Do has scheduled a Tae Kwon Do demonstration from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. today at Music City Mall, 4101 E. 42nd St.

There will be a free session for all ages following the demonstration.

Chivo Chasin

The West Texas Chivo Chasers has scheduled the third annual World Championship Barbados Chivo Chasin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Dub Day Arena, 1088 E. 329, Rankin.

The event will include 10 qualifying rounds throughout the day. Qualifiers will advance to final match roping for buckles and prize money.

Gospel Concert

New Dawn Fellowship, 2110 E. 10th St., has scheduled the Brian Free & Assurance Gospel Concert from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday.

The concert is free, however a love offering will be taken.

Fallen Hero Exhibit

A Fallen Hero Exhibit and Program has been scheduled from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Music City Mall, 4101 E. 42nd St.

The wall will be on display from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The exhibit honors West Texas Heroes from Iraq, Desert Storm and the Middle East Crisis.

U.S. Veterans Administration representatives will be available for questions.

Law enforcement and underage drinking

Law enforcement will be on the lookout this weekend for underage drinking and social host parties.

The Odessa Police Department will be teaming up with ECISD Police, ECHD Police, UTPB Police, the Ector County Sheriff’s Office, Odessa Crime Stoppers, and the Permian Basin Regional Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse.

OPD will increase its patrol during the operation in response to calls involving drug use, underage drinking parties and social host violations. The operation will run through Sunday. Any tips that result in a citation can result in a cash reward. These offenses include minor in possession, minor consuming, furnishing alcohol to minors and social host accountability.

Anyone with information in reference to any of the above-listed offenses is encouraged to call Odessa Crime Stoppers at 333-TIPS.

The goal of the Odessa Police Department is for everyone to be safe and celebrate responsibly.
