Police: 3 hurt in shooting where man was killed day before
HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) — Police say three people have been wounded in a shooting in Mississippi, a day after a man was killed in the same area.
Hattiesburg police spokesman Ryan Moore tells news outlets in a statement the shooting happened Sunday night. He says officers learned after arriving that the three had left the scene and went to a hospital. Their condition wasn’t immediately available and police didn’t provide further information on the shooting.
On Saturday night, 37-year-old Marlon Brown was killed on the same street block. What caused his death is pending an autopsy and police don’t have anyone in custody suspected in his slaying. Officers had been contacted about an altercation and Brown died at a hospital after he was injured.
It’s unclear if the shooting and the altercation are related.
