NNEDD receives $210,000 planning grant
NORFOLK - The Northeast Nebraska Economic Development District has received a $210,000 planning grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration.
Executive Director Tom Higginbotham says the money will be used to pay the employees.
“We leverage the money with our membership dues so our employees can go out there and provide services to the local governments that belong to the organization. We do strategic planning, grant writing, as well as others to help out local communities.”
Higginbotham says they have received the annual grant for quite some time, but it just recently changed so they will receive $70,000 a year for three years.
He says last Thursday they held their annual meeting to hand out awards and celebrate their accomplishments for the 2017 and 2018 year.
Higginbotham says the new award started July 1st and will end June 30th of 2021.
