Milford man accused of trying to fight cops
MILFORD — A city man was charged after he tried to fight officers who were trying to help him get to the hospital for a detox, police said.
Jeffrey Detoro, 34, of Ridge Street, was charged with interfering with an officer.
Milford cops took Detoro into custody on Aug. 31 on an active warrant for his arrest.
“Detoro is accused of interfering with an officer on July 25, 2018, when officers responded to his home for a medical call and during the course of the call it was determined Detoro would need to be detoxed (at) the hospital,” police said.
While officers waited with Detoro for an ambulance, he refused to stay calm. The officers tried to tell him to remain calm, but instead he allegedly tried to fight the officers, police said.
Detoro was released on a promise to appear. He is expected in court on Sept. 25.
