Glendale defeats Elkton 41-38 in overtime

GLENDALE — The Glendale boys got their first win of the season, defeating Elkton 41-38 in overtime of Tuesday’s Skyline League game.

“It feels like we’ve won the national championship,” Glendale coach Tom Ford said. “I told them we can celebrate tonight, but we’ve got another game this week. So let’s see if we can make it two in a row.”

Kalab Cline led Glendale (1-13, 1-6 South) with 11 points, six rebounds and eight steals. Kye Gonzalez and Traylyn Arana had seven rebounds apiece.

After regulation the score was tied at 35, forcing it into overtime where Glendale outscored Elkton 6-3.

Elkton (4-13, 1-5) was led by Spencer Moore with 12 points, all from 3-pointers. The Elks made nine 3s total.

Glendale will play the Hidden Valley JV2 team on Thursday in a nonconference game and return to Skyline League play Tuesday at Riddle.

Elkton will host Pacific on Friday.
