Towson Fires Basketball Coach
TOWSON, Md. (AP) _ Towson fired men’s basketball coach Mike Jaskulski with one year remaining on his contract Tuesday.
Jaskulski led the Tigers to a 37-76 record over four years. His teams were 25-54 in America East Conference play.
``We are concerned with the program’s lack of progress and with the level of competitiveness in America East, in particular with our lack of success against Delaware, Drexel and Hofstra ...″ Dr. Wayne Edwards, director of athletics, said.
Under Jaskulski, Towson was 0-28 against those three opponents.
Jaskulski came to Towson from Miami, where he was an assistant for four years. Before that, he was an assistant at Maine for six seasons, and from 1984-88, he was the head coach at Loras.
