Pamplico residents advised to boil water
PAMPLICO, S.C. – Residents and people who use the Town of Pamplico’s water system are being advised to boil their water for a least one minute before drinking or cooking with it.
There was a water main line break at 1567 S. Pamplico Highway, according to a news release from the town.
“We feel that the drinking water system serving the area has not become contaminated, but to be safe, you are advised to boil your drinking and cooking water,” the release said.
Ice made from the water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.
The Pamplico Public Works Department is working to correct the problem. Residents will be advised by the town or South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control when to stop boiling water.
