LOS ANGELES (AP) — Carrie Fisher had a mix of drugs coursing their way through her system when she fell ill on a plane last year. However, coroner’s officials in Los Angeles say they can’t determine what effect the drugs had on her death. The report says the “Star Wars” actress may have taken cocaine three days before the flight upon which she collapsed. The report also says traces of heroin, opiates and ecstasy were found in her body. But it’s unclear when she took those drugs. Last week, coroners’ officials said Fisher died of sleep apnea and a combination of other factors.

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) — An alternate juror in Bill Cosby’s sexual assault case says he “probably” would have voted to convict the comedian. Mike McCloskey tells Pittsburgh radio station WDVE he was “ridiculously sick” when he found out that the jury that got to vote on the case couldn’t reach a unanimous verdict. As an alternate, McCloskey heard all the evidence in the case, but wasn’t allowed to deliberate. McCloskey says during the ride home from the Philadelphia area back to Pittsburgh, where the jurors lived, there was “complete silence.” He says it was the “eeriest bus ride” he had ever taken.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — “Cars 3” has raced to the number-one position on the box office list. The Disney Pixar animated movie took in $53.5 million in ticket receipts during its first week in theaters. And while you can’t turn up your nose at a number-one box office finish, Cars 3 posted the worst opening in the franchise’s history. Also worth noting, the movie cost $1 billion to make. Number two was “Wonder Woman,” which had topped the movie charts the two previous weeks.

NEW YORK (AP) — Imagine if someone made a movie about your life. Chances are that you would find a thing or two went down differently in real life than it was portrayed on the big screen — and so would your friends. That’s what’s happening now with the release of the Tupac Shakur (TOO’-pahk shah-KOOR’) movie, “All Eyez on Me.” Two of “Pac’s” close buds have reacted to the movie. Jada Pinkett Smith says some things in the movie never happened. But MC Hammer calls the movie “an excellent portrait” of the rapper’s life.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — It seems everyone is saying Beyoncé and Jay Z have welcomed their twin babies — except the two who would know best. There have been a slew of reports out there — but nothing official from the couple. It took weeks to confirm the birth of their first child. And it was years before they confirmed they were married — or even dating.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — If there were school students near Buffalo, New York who weren’t fans of U2 before now, they should be now. The band is responsible for squeezing an extra day out of their summer vacation. The band is performing Sept. 5 in Orchard Park, New York. That was also to be the first day of school. But rather than risk having a crush of concertgoers mingling on the road with schoolkids, the start of the school year has been pushed back a day.

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — It drew a lot of publicity — but not a lot of viewers. The Megyn Kelly interview with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones drew 3.5 million people to NBC last night. That’s nothing to sneeze at — but it was well below the audience that tuned in to watch “60 Minutes” on CBS. Kelly was widely criticized for interviewing a man who claims the Sandy Hook Elementary School mass shooting was a hoax. NBC was asked not to air the show by attorneys for some of those who lost children in the massacre — and the NBC affiliate in Connecticut refused to air the show.

NEW YORK (AP) — It’s nice when a theatrical production is able to motivate audience members. But it’s not so nice if people get so worked up they decide to storm the stage. That’s what has been happening with that Shakespeare in the Park event in New York — yes, the one that depicts a Trump dress-alike in the role of “Julius Caesar.” During last night’s show, two patrons bum-rushed the stage before being arrested.

NEW YORK (AP) — Bill Dana has died. He was a comedy writer and performer who became a star in the 1950s and ’60s with the kind of routine that would have earned him scorn if he tried to roll it out in these conflicted times. He played a character named Jose Jimenez — a Hispanic fellow who spoke with a heavy accent. It was featured on the old “Steve Allen Show” and Dana eventually landed his own sitcom.

Bill Dana was 92.
