FD: Torrington fire does minor damage

TORRINGTON — A commercial business saw minor damage after a fire Tuesday, officials said.

Fire units were sent to Detail Unlimited and Cycle Addiction, 99 Winsted Road, around 5:30 p.m. for a reported of a fire in the back of the business. The first fire units on scene came from the North End Station, just around the corner, and reported an exterior fire with smoke inside.

Firefighters were able to get the blaze out quickly and begin the search for any hotspots or additional fires in the roof or walls.

There was minor damage to the structure from firefighters looking for extension, according to Deputy Fire Chief David Tripp. Smoke did some damage to the two businesses.

The occupants were able to get out of the fire without any injuries. No firefighters were injured.

The caus eof the fire remains under investigation.
