WHS swimmers sixth at invite
MENOMONEE FALLS — Watertown’s boys swim team placed sixth with a score of 239.5 points at the Menomonee Falls Invitational on Saturday.
Brendan Williams had the top individual finish for the Goslings, placing fifth in the 50 freestyle in 23.92 seconds. Williams also swam with Zach Jaworski, Nathan Williams and Austin Fuchs on the 200 freestyle relay team, which took fifth in 1:40.36.
Shaun McCloskey took sixth in the 100 butterfly in 1:02.79 and added a 10th-place finish in the 500 freestyle (5:45.89). Nathan Lampe finished seventh in the 100 freestyle in 54.53. Nathan Williams placed seventh in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.51). Jaworski took ninth in the 50 freestyle in 25.09 while Lampe took 10th in 25.12. Brendan Williams added a 10th-place finish in the 200 freestyle in 2:03.68.
The 200 medley relay team of Lampe, Fuchs, Shaun McCloskey and Liam McCloskey finished seventh in 1:56.44. The 400 freestyle relay team of Jaworski, Shaun McCloskey, Brendan Williams and Nathan Williams placed seventh in 3:46.77.
“The athletes earned a total of 28 personal records today,” Watertown boys swimming coach Samantha Calliari said. “This is a very difficult task at this point in the season as the athletes are at their peak training period before they approach their final meets of the season.”
Watertown hosts Fort Atkinson on Tuesday.
