DAR to meet for Mother’s Day lunch

CHARLESTON — The Kanawha Valley Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at Edgewood Country Club in Charleston at noon on Saturday, May 11, for their annual Mother’s Day Luncheon and meeting.

April Gardner Norris, WVDAR State Historian and Chapter Regent, will preside. Special Guest Speaker will be WV Supreme Court Justice John Hutchison.

Three new members Terry Barley, Nancy Holmes and Carolyn Johnson Williams will be welcomed to the chapter. Shirley M. Gilkeson, Past NSDAR Vice President General and Honorary WVDAR State Regent will install new officers. Chaplain Kathie Bowling will conduct a Memorial Service.

Members are reminded to bring their “bottles of dimes” for Wreaths Across America and coupons for deployed military families. Hostesses are Julie Boggess and Karen Baisi.
