Man gets jail sentence for brutally beating his puppy
DUBLIN, Calif. (AP) — Prosecutors in Northern California say a man has been sentenced to jail time for the brutal beating of his 9-month-old puppy.
The East Bay Times reports Friday that 24-year-old Joshua Tadduc, of Hayward, was sentenced to 30 days in county jail and three years of felony probation.
Alameda County prosecutors say Tadduc beat the puppy in 2017 with a wooden stick after the animal defecated inside his home.
The dog, named Aaliyah, had a compound fracture to her upper left jaw and bruises throughout her body. She underwent six hours of reconstructive surgery to her jaw.
Tadduc also was ordered to not own any animals for at least three years, and attend anger management classes and counseling.
He is not allowed to own Aaliyah anymore.
