STEWARTVILLE — A Rochester woman was arrested for drug possession and sales early Thursday following a routine traffic stop on Main Street in Stewartville.

An Olmsted County sheriff’s deputy on patrol in Stewartville at 12:54 a.m. Thursday pulled over a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Lacey Brown, 36. The vehicle had expired license tabs, said Capt. Scott Behrns, of the sheriff’s office.

The officer noticed a bag of what appeared to be marijuana in the front seat of the car, and Brown admitted it belonged to her, Behrns said. A search of Brown’s purse turned up 29.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine, as well as a digital scale.

Brown was taken into custody and will be charged with first-degree controlled substance sales and first-degree controlled substance possession.
