Police say 3 shot and wounded in downtown Brooklyn

July 13, 2018

NEW YORK (AP) — Police are looking for a gunman who shot three people in a busy shopping district in downtown Brooklyn.

During the shooting on Friday afternoon, a 31-year-old man was hit in the thigh, and two others — a 28-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman — were each hit in the hand.

The gunshots rang out in front of a bustling outdoor strip of shops and department stores called the Fulton Mall.

Police say the 28-year-old man was targeted by the gunman after a dispute and the others were unintended victims.

The three were treated at Brooklyn’s Methodist Hospital.

Stores were evacuated and shoppers spilled out into the streets after the shooting.
