EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) — The Latest on 17 people falling ill at a Southern California business (all times local):

7 p.m.

Police say tainted spaghetti may have caused 17 people to fall ill at a Southern California business, including some who were taken to the hospital.

It happened Wednesday afternoon at the El Segundo office of ManTech International Corp., an information technology firm.

Police Lt. Dan Kim tells KCBS-TV that it appears an employee brought in some tainted spaghetti to a luncheon. He says all of the people who became sick had the spaghetti.

People began complaining of vomiting, nausea, dizziness and weakness.

The El Segundo Fire Department says 17 people had symptoms consistent with food poisoning. Eight were taken to a hospital in stable condition.

A message to a ManTech spokesman seeking comment wasn’t immediately returned.

KABC-TV reports that employees were having a catered luncheon when some began feeling ill. They complained of vomiting, nausea, dizziness and weakness.

The El Segundo Fire Department says 17 people had symptoms consistent with food poisoning. Eight were taken to a hospital in stable condition.
