IN BRIEF:

— FUGITIVE ARRESTED — Authorities say a teen-ager suspected in a fatal shooting in Connecticut last year has been arrested in Florida.

— CHILD KILLED — Police say a 4-year-old boy has died after a single-car crash in New Britain.

— BANGOR KILLING — A Connecticut man convicted of manslaughter in the death of his girlfriend’s husband has been sentenced to 18 years in prison.

— POLICE VEHICLE STRUCK — Police are searching for a driver they say struck a state police vehicle in a hit-and-run in Windsor. The crash happened around 5:15 p.m. Thursday when a blue pickup truck rear-ended the police vehicle and fled the scene.

— SKATE FISHING — The federal government is allowing fishermen of skates to bring thousands more pounds of the fish to the docks this year. Skates are the target of a major fishery that lands tens of thousands of pounds per year in the U.S.
