Giants Sign CB Ramos McDonald

September 5, 2000

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) _ Cornerback Ramos McDonald re-signed with the New York Giants, less than a week after he was released.

McDonald, waived by San Francisco towards the end of training camp, signed with the Giants on Aug. 25. He was released six days later later after New York signed former Jets safety Omar Stoutmire.

To make room for McDonald on their 53-man roster, the Giants waived tight end and snapper Brody Heffner-Liddiard.

The Giants then re-signed Heffner-Liddiard to their practice squad, after releasing fullback Michael Jones from it.

A third-round draft pick of Minnesota in 1998, McDonald started 12 games last season, five with the Vikings and seven with the 49ers.

Heffner-Liddiard was signed by the Giants on Aug. 20 after being waived by Minnesota.
