Enough with the politics
An editorial in The News-Review on Nov. 29 expounding the reality of climate change, which ends with “Enough with the politics,” spoke of “climate change deniers.” The non-governmental scientific climate research community acknowledges that climate change is going on. The real issues are it is not proven that climate change is primarily man-made; climate models predicting future climate are deeply flawed while greatly exaggerating global warming; and studies by government scientists are corrupted by the source of funds, which drive the conclusion of studies.
For this latter reason, in all fields of science, researchers with master’s degrees or doctorates understand that being paid by the sponsor of the study automatically ranks the study of low validity — if not outright unethical.
Geologist and astronaut Harrison Schmitt says the earth “Has gone through climate change, it is going through climate change ... is there any evidence that human beings are causing that change? … In my profession, there is no evidence…. unfortunately, funding by governments is biasing science toward what the government wants to hear ... If NASA’s interested in a particular conclusion, then that’s the way the proposals come in for funding.”
The public sees the hypocrisy of this political correctness. Brandon Straka, gay hairstylist and actor, in his YouTube video says, “I reject tyrannical group think. I reject a system which allows an ambitious and misinformed and dogmatic mob to suppress free speech, create false narratives and to apathetically steamroll over the truth. I reject the acceptance of junk science and superstition to advance ideological agendas. I reject hate. These are the reasons I became a liberal and these are the same reasons why I am now walking away.”
To accusatively say, “climate denier!” is an attempt to shame, belittle, and suppress skepticism and freedom of speech. Please, enough with the politics.
