LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Tina Thompson scored 10 of her 30 points in the opening five minutes and No. 22 Southern Cal went on to rout Washington State 92-64 Friday night.

The Cougars (11-8, 4-6 Pac-10) shot 28 percent from the floor and trailed 44-23 at halftime.

USC’s press forced 26 turnovers and racked up a season-high 18 steals.

Thompson led five players in double figures for the Trojans (13-6, 6-4). Michelle Campbell had a career-high 18 points and 12 rebounds.

``Tina Thompson was absolutely incredible,″ USC coach Cheryl Miller said. ``Today was her birthday, and she got her birthday wish.″

Jenni Ruff had 15 points and eight rebounds for Washington State.
