Nordstrom: Fiscal 2Q Earnings Snapshot
SEATTLE (AP) _ Nordstrom Inc. (JWN) on Wednesday reported fiscal second-quarter earnings of $141 million.
On a per-share basis, the Seattle-based company said it had profit of 90 cents.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 76 cents per share.
The department store operator posted revenue of $3.87 billion in the period, which fell short of Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $3.93 billion.
Nordstrom expects full-year earnings to be $3.25 to $3.50 per share.
Nordstrom shares have fallen 43% since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index has climbed 17%. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $26.61, a decline of 57% in the last 12 months.
