Herd tennis has home match Tuesday

HUNTINGTON — Marshall University women’s tennis plays its final home match this season Tuesday.

University of Charleston (14-2, 3-0 Mountain East Conference) visits Marshall (5-13, 2-3 Conference USA) at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Brian David Fox Tennis Center on campus.

Marshall is having a Booster Appreciation Day with everyone invited and lunch is being served at noon.

Anna Smith leads the Thundering Herd with 10 dual-match wins and Madi Ballow has nine. Liz Stefancic has a 6-2 record in her last eight singles matches while Ballow is 5-1 in her last six.

Elise Edwards of the Golden Eagles has a 15-1 singles record and is 13-2 in doubles with three different partners.

Baseball

BLACKSBURG, Va. — Marshall (18-13) and Virginia Tech (18-14) baseball teams play at 6 p.m. Tuesday game at English Field at Union Park.

In an earlier meeting this season, the Hokies defeated the Thundering Herd,11-3, at Appalachian Power Park in Charleston.
