COUNTY CROSS LAWSUIT

PHILADELPHIA — A Pennsylvania county is appealing a federal judge's ruling that the image of a large Christian cross on the county's flag and seal is an unconstitutional endorsement of religion. The Freedom From Religion Foundation objected to the cross's inclusion on Lehigh County's flag and seal and sought its removal in 2017. By Claudia Lauer. UPCOMING: About 300 words. BISHOP-MISCONDUCT ALLEGATION

HARRISBURG — A former Pennsylvania Roman Catholic bishop who now serves in Indiana has denied an allegation of misconduct. The Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend told PennLive.com in a statement Thursday that former Harrisburg bishop Kevin Rhoades "adamantly denies" the accusation and that he "did nothing wrong." No. 13 Penn State doesn't use the word rivalry when talking about facing Pittsburgh. The Panthers use it freely when describing the Nittany Lions.
