BATAVIA, Ohio (AP) _ Milacron Inc. laid off nearly 100 workers at its plastics technologies business in Clermont County, east of Cincinnati.

The layoffs started Wednesday at the company's Batavia complex, Milacron officials said Thursday. The reduction was needed because new product orders have been lagging, managers said.

Milacron, based in Cincinnati, makes and sells plastics processing technologies, metal-cutting tools and metalworking technologies.

The company has 11,000 employees worldwide and has plants in North America, Europe and India.
