Upcoming book signings by new La Porte author announced
La PORTE – Local author Sara A. Noë has released a new science-fantasy novel.
A Fallen Hero is available as a hardcover printed and distributed by Barnes & Noble.
The first book signing will take place on Saturday at the Co-op Shoppes, 512 State St., La Porte from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Jazzercise of Michigan City will host the second signing on Oct. 13 at 2010 Evergreen Plaza from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The book will also be sold at the Steel Pen Writers’ Conference in Fair Oaks at the end of October.
Noë is a writer, photographer, and artist whose work was published in the Northwest Indiana Literary Journal and Voices Literary Journal earlier this year.
Her photograph “Aftermath” was featured on the cover of Voices, which is available at the Lubeznik Center for the Arts in Michigan City.
Her career landmark A Fallen Hero is the first book in the War of the Realms series, featuring a half-human, half-ghost named Cato. The former hero was betrayed by his family and then tortured in a government facility, and now he’s a fugitive hunted by the opposing forces of a building war in a world where humanity is threatened by the supernatural beings of another realm.
The book was reviewed by Nikki Mentges at NAM Editorial, who wrote, “So many elements to love . . . the layered world building, the distinct and compelling POVs (villains included!), the harrowing conflicts Cato must battle through—and, of course, the found-family bond between him and his lab-siblings, which is such a powerful presence throughout the story. Don’t be surprised if you say ‘one more chapter before bed’ and find yourself closing the cover at dawn.”
At this time, A Fallen Hero is available exclusively on Barnes & Noble’s website as a print-on-demand book, although Noë intends to have it distributed to other bookstores and platforms such as Amazon before the end of the year.
Readers can follow her on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and her website www.onthecobblestoneroad.com for updates and events.
