Deputies: House fire in community of Bagdad was intentional
BAGDAD, Ariz. (AP) — Yavapai County authorities are looking into a house fire that shows signs of being an act of arson.
Yavapai County sheriff’s deputies say they responded to a blaze in the community of Bagdad on Monday around 7:20 a.m.
The deputies say an occupant of a home was able to escape injury after being awoken by the smell of smoke.
Investigators say evidence indicates someone intentionally set fire in several areas of the home but the flames did not spread.
Authorities believe someone entered the home between 2:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. to start the fire.
