CLEVELAND (AP) _ Edgar Renteria set a record he won't be proud of Thursday night, becoming the first player ever to strike out twice in the same inning of a World Series game.

Renteria, who struck out 108 times in 617 at-bats during the regular season, opened and closed Florida's four-run sixth inning with strikeouts. The first came against Orel Hershiser, the second against Eric Plunk.
