KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Authorities say a Tennessee man has been charged with threatening the life of a judge.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says it began investigating threats made against a Grainger County judge on Aug. 8.
Investigators said 36-year-old Drew Anthony Abbott sent a letter to the judge threatening to kill him. The judge's name was not mentioned in a news release from the TBI.
Abbott, of Maryville, was indicted Wednesday on one count of harassment. He was served with the indictment in Hamblen County Jail, where he was already being held on unrelated charges.
