LOS ANGELES (AP) _ For actors John Travolta and Marlon Brando, imitation became the sincerest form of friendship.

Travolta portrayed Brando in a ``Saturday Night Live'' skit several years ago that parodied the CNN talk show ``Larry King Live.''

When the two eventually met face-to-face, Brando praised the ``Pulp Fiction'' actor for his dead-on mimicry, Travolta said.

``Every time he sees me he brings it up and laughs about it,'' Travolta said in an interview in Saturday's Los Angeles Times. ``Maybe it's a prejudice for me, but I always think the greatest actors are the ones who are playful, who are childlike.''

Travolta, 46, said he was introduced to ``The Godfather'' star by fellow actor Sean Penn.
