TJX Hires Former Big Lots CFO

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (AP) _ The TJX Cos. said Wednesday it had hired Jeffrey Naylor away from closeout retailer Big Lots Inc. as chief financial officer. Naylor replaces Donald Campbell, who will become executive vice president and chief administrative and business development officer.
``Jeff is a seasoned CFO with extensive experience in the retail industry and is an excellent fit with the corporate culture of TJX,'' company president and CEO Edmond English said.
Naylor will also serve as executive vice president.
Columbus, Ohio-based Big Lots has 1,400 stores across 45 states. TJX operates 749 T.J. Maxx and 674 Marshalls stores, as well as several smaller chains.
Big Lots had previously announced Naylor's departure, but did not name the company where he had taken a new job. He was replaced by Joe R. Cooper.
Shares of Big Lots traded down 35 cents at $1448 in trading Wednesday on the New York Stock Exchange. TJX shares fell 8 cents to $22.94.
