NEW YORK (AP) _ Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban passed the half-million dollar mark in fines this season when the NBA charged him $100,000 Friday for making a derogatory gesture during a game earlier this week.

Cuban was also suspended for one game for making the gesture and publicly criticizing officials during Dallas' 111-106 loss to the Phoenix Suns last Wednesday. He was to serve the suspension Friday night, when the Mavericks played the Kings in Dallas .

The fine was Cuban's seventh this season for a total of $505,000. The individual fines have ranged from $5,000 to $250,000.

``If it's about me having to sit on my hands and not stand up and not jump up and down when something happens, that's craziness,'' Cuban said. ``That's craziness. Why should I have to be any different than a normal fan? The game is still going to be the game regardless of what Mark Cuban says or does.''
