DALLAS (AP) _ One day after the Dallas Mavericks dropped him from their list of training camp attendees, Ansu Sesay was arrested on drug charges.

Sesay, a second-round draft pick in 1998, was taken into custody after employees at a North Dallas motel smelled marijuana near the room where he was staying. A maid led police to Sesay's room and opened the door with a key.

He was arrested Tuesday night and booked into the Lew Sterrett Justice Center before being released on $500 bail Wednesday, authorities were quoted as saying in The Dallas Morning News today.

The 6-foot-9 free-agent forward was told Monday he was dropped from the training camp list.
