Jury being picked for trial in homicide of man shot from car
Jul. 09, 2018
EBENSBURG, Pa. (AP) — Jury selection has begun for the trial of a man charged in a western Pennsylvania shooting death last year.
The (Johnstown) Tribune-Democrat reports that several people were selected Monday morning for the Cambria County trial of 25-year-old Jalen Gibson.
Prosecutors allege that Gibson shot 24-year-old Tevin Sitton from the back seat of a car in April 2017 in Dale after two other men in the front seat talked briefly to the victim. Johnstown police said the shooting was captured on Sitton's home surveillance system.
Twenty-six-year-old Clifford Eddins and 24-year-old Dennis Manson pleaded guilty in May to hindering apprehension or prosecution. Remaining charges are to be dismissed after they testify.
A dozen jurors and four alternates are to be chosen from the pool of 90 people summoned to the courthouse Monday.
