BRADENTON, Fla. (AP) _ Pirates outfielder Chris Singleton will fly to Pittsburgh on Monday for more tests after missing the first three spring training workouts because of an inner ear infection.

Singleton, who signed a minor league contract with the Pirates in January, is a five-year veteran who spent last season with the Oakland Athletics.

He experienced lightheadedness Thursday. He has been able to run on a treadmill, lift weights, hit off an indoor tee and play catch, but has not been allowed to do outdoor drills.

``We want to make sure he's clear before they let him out on the field,'' Pirates manager Lloyd McClendon said.
