ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) _ The Colorado Rockies put right-hander Jose Jimenez on the 15-day disabled list and optioned outfielder Brooks Kieschnick to Triple-A Colorado Springs on Saturday.

Jimenez, who has a sore right shoulder, is 4-1 with a 4.14 ERA in 37 relief appearances this season. The move is retroactive to July 8.

Kieschnick, hitless in his last 23 at-bats, was demoted to make room for outfielder Kim Bartee, acquired in a trade with the Anaheim Angels on Friday night. Kieschnick hit .238 with three homers and nine RBIs in 35 games for the Rockies this season.

Bartee started in left field for the Rockies on Saturday against the Texas Rangers.

Colorado played with a 24-man roster on Saturday. The team said another player would be added before Sunday's game in Oakland.
