Man gets 37 years in prison for kidnapping, stealing car

VISALIA, Calif. (AP) — A 23-year-old California man who was identified on Facebook by his victim has been sentenced to 37 years to life in prison for kidnapping and stealing a car.
The Fresno Bee reports (http://bit.ly/2tmqtPS ) that Lazarus Marquez was sentenced last week for the July 2015 crime.
The Tulare County District Attorney's Office states the victim was approached by Marquez while getting into her car. He is accused of putting a gun to the victim's head before making her get in the back seat of the car and driving off.
The victim says he let her out in the rural outskirts of Visalia and drove away. She later was able to identify him for authorities via a Facebook page.
Marquez was found guilty of kidnapping during a carjacking and seven other felonies.
