Alabama road improvement projects set for bidding
Oct. 27, 2017
DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) — Five road improvement projects will be up for bid at an Alabama Department of Transportation meeting next week.
The Dothan Eagle reports ALDOT estimates the projects could go between $6.9 million and $8.4 million at its bid-letting meeting on Nov. 3 in Montgomery. However, bids are not limited by the estimates and can be more or less than the projections.
Officials say State Route 134 will be slightly widened for safety and a more than 12-mile (19-kilometer) stretch will be resurfaced. A "pavement preservation" project is set for part of U.S. Route 431. Nearly 9 miles (14 kilometers) of State Route 52 will also be resurfaced and widened.
The two other projects involve work on a bridge in Pike County and replacing another in Geneva County.
