Two Killed in Md. Wall Collapse
Aug. 16, 2000
WOODLAWN, Md. (AP) _ A cinder block wall collapsed at a construction site Wednesday afternoon, killing two workers and injuring three others.
Rescuers used a thermal-imaging camera to look through the rubble to see if any people were trapped, but ``we think we've accounted for everybody,'' said Alonza Williams, a spokesman for the Baltimore County fire department.
The concrete wall was made of 8-inch cinderblocks and was about 25-30 feet high, he said.
One of the injured was taken to Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, while the other two were taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, Williams said. Information on their conditions was not immediately available.
Woodlawn is a suburb west of Baltimore.
