EU Give Clearance to Halliburton
Mar. 16, 2001
BRUSSELS, Belgium (AP) _ The European Union Commission gave antitrust clearance Friday to the plans of Halliburton Co. of the United States and Europe's Royal Dutch Shell to set up an oil service joint venture.
``The deal presents neither overlaps nor any vertical integration problems,'' the EU Commission said in a statement.
The joint venture called Welldynamics will provide the energy industry with services to make oil and gas wells produce longer, the Commission said.
