LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Writer-producer-director Edward Zwick will deliver the keynote address at this year's Humanitas Prize luncheon Thursday at the Hilton Universal Hotel.

The Humanitas Prize was created 27 years ago to ``encourage, stimulate and sustain writers in their humanizing task and to give them the recognition they deserve,'' the organization said.

Cash value of the prizes range from $25,000 to $10,000. Finalists have been announced in eight categories including feature film, 90 minute or longer network film, children's animation and Sundance feature film.
