RICHMOND, Mass. (AP) — Gov. Deval Patrick is heading to his Sweet P Farm in western Massachusetts to meet with his cabinet as he looks ahead to his final 17 months in office.
Patrick said Wednesday that twice a year — usually in December and in the summer — he gets together with his cabinet to brainstorm about longer term work.
Patrick said he and his team will meet Friday to discuss issues they still hope to tackle and other issues that have surfaced that they need to get ahead of.
The cabinet meeting follows a contentious fight with the Legislature over Patrick's education and transportation proposals.
The meeting also comes as Patrick is facing a period of time when attention on Beacon Hill will gradually shift to the election of his successor.
