STOCKHOLM, Sweden (AP) _ Three-time Olympic silver medalist show jumper John Whitaker was in stable condition Saturday after a stroke, a spokeswoman for Uppsala's University Hospital said.
The 45-year-old British rider went to the hospital Friday before he was to ride in Stockholm's International Horse Show.
Whitaker won the World Cup final twice and a European title. He also took individual and team silver medals in show jumping at the 1980 Olympics and another team silver at the 1984 Olympics.
