Lynch sat during most of the U.S. anthem and stood for the Mexican anthem before Sunday's game against the Patriots at Azteca Stadium in Mexico City. Lynch hasn't stood for the national anthem since returning from retirement this season. Early today, Trump tweeted, "Great disrespect! Next time NFL should suspend him for remainder of season. Attendance and ratings way down."

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump says he should have left three UCLA basketball players in China, after they were accused of shoplifting. Trump's tweet Sunday comes after the father of player LiAngelo Ball minimized Trump's involvement in winning the players' release. On Friday, when ESPN asked LaVar Ball about Trump's involvement in the matter, he said, "Who?" and "What was he over there for? Don't tell me nothing. Everybody wants to make it seem like he helped me out."

ATLANTA (AP) — Say goodbye to the Georgia Dome. Nearly 5,000 pounds of explosives were used this morning to bring the old downtown Atlanta stadium to the ground. Onlookers gathered at skyscrapers' windows, at a revolving hotel-top restaurant, in parking lots and on nearby streets to watch the controlled destruction of the landmark stadium. The Georgia Dome opened in 1992 and already has been replaced by the $1.6 billion Mercedes-Benz Stadium next door.

UNDATED (AP) — The Tennis world is mourning two important figures today. The 1998 Wimbledon champion, Jana Novotna (YAH'-nuh noh-VAHT'-nuh), died Sunday following a long battle with cancer. She was 49. And Pancho Segura, who won six U.S. Pro singles and doubles championships has died at age 96. Segura once coached Jimmy Connors, who tweeted, "Sad day -- lost my friend-coach- and mentor."

ROME (AP) — Italian football federation president Carlo Tavecchio has resigned, a week after the Azzurri failed to qualify for the World Cup. Today's announcement came following calls for a complete overhaul of Italy's most popular sport, from amateur leagues right up to Serie A and the national teams. Sweden's playoff win over Italy kept the four-time champion out of the World Cup for the first time in six decades.
