KATO, Japan (AP) _ Ryoken Kawagishi shot a 4-under 68 Sunday to win the Philip Morris Championship Sunday by one stroke, his first triumph on the Japanese pro tour since 1995.

Kawagishi, who finished at 18-under 270, had five birdies and one bogey over the ABC Golf Club's 7,176-yard, par-72 course.

Kawagishi received $381,388 from the total purse of $1.9 million, the biggest winner's share on the Japanese circuit. It was his sixth win since turning pro in 1989.

Kstsumori Kuwabara also fired a closing 68 and finished second at 271.
